Genesis 3:15 (AMP) "And I will put enmity (open hostility) between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel." The hostility between God's people and the enemy was established from the very beginning.
Revelation 12:10 (NLT) "Then I heard a loud voice shouting across the heavens, 'It has come at last — salvation and power and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth — the one who accuses them before our God day and night.'" The enemy is an accuser, actively bringing charges against believers around the clock.
Luke 22:31 (NLT) "Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat." Jesus warned Peter directly. The enemy petitions for access to God's people.
Daniel 10:12–13 (NLT) "Don't be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer. But for twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help me." Spiritual warfare has real, tangible effects on what happens in the physical world.
2 Corinthians 10:3–6 (ESV) "For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds." We live in the natural but we don't fight in it. Our weapons carry divine power.
Ephesians 6:11–13 (NIV) "Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." We are not wrestling against people. We are standing against organized spiritual darkness.
Colossians 2:13–15 (NLT) "You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross." The cross wasn't just forgiveness — it was a victory over every spiritual ruler and authority. The enemy was disarmed publicly. That changes everything.
He is not passive. He has a strategy.

1 Peter 5:8 (AMP) "Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined], be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour." The devil is actively looking for someone to destroy. Passivity is not an option.
John 10:10 (ESV) "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." The enemy has one agenda. Jesus has another. Both are at work right now.
Colossians 2:8 (NLT) "Don't let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ." Deception is one of his primary weapons. Not every idea that sounds intelligent is spiritually safe.
1 Peter 2:11 (NIV) "Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul." Worldly desires are not neutral. They wage war against the soul.
Matthew 26:41 (NLT) "Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak." The flesh is weak and the enemy knows exactly where to apply pressure.

You cannot walk in authority you don't believe you have. Identity is the foundation of everything.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT) "This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun." You are not who you used to be. The old has gone.
Ephesians 2:6 (NIV) "And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus." You are seated with Christ in heavenly places — above the powers of darkness, not beneath them.
Romans 8:16–17 (NLT) "For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God's children. And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God's glory." You are a child of God and a co-heir with Christ. That changes everything about how you stand.
1 Peter 2:9 (NIV) "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." You were called out of darkness. You belong to the light.
Colossians 1:13–14 (NLT) "For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins." You have been transferred out of the enemy's kingdom. You no longer live under his rule.
1 John 4:4 (AMP) "Little children (believers, dear ones), you are of God and you belong to Him and have [already] overcome them [the agents of the antichrist]; because He who is in you is greater than he (Satan) who is in the world [of sinful mankind]." Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. This is not a motivational phrase — it is a fact.
The enemy needs legal ground. Here's where it comes from.
Sin, iniquity, generational patterns, unforgiveness, resentment, anger, idol worship

Exodus 34:7 (NLT) "I lavish unfailing love to a thousand generations. I forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin. But I do not excuse the guilty. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children and grandchildren; the entire family is affected — even children in the third and fourth generations." Generational sin is real. What was opened by those before us may still need to be closed.
Exodus 20:5 (AMP) "You shall not worship them nor serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me." Iniquity passed through family lines is a serious matter that Scripture addresses directly.
Ephesians 4:26–27 (AMP) "Be angry [at sin], yet do not sin; do not let your anger last until the sun goes down. And do not give the devil an opportunity [to lead you into sin by holding a grudge, or nurturing anger, or harboring resentment, or cultivating bitterness]." Unresolved anger gives the devil a foothold. Don't hand him access.
Hebrews 12:1 (NIV) "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." Sin entangles. It needs to be thrown off, not managed.
Romans 6:12–14 (NLT) "Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God's grace." You have new life. That means sin's control over you is broken — but you still have to choose not to hand it back.

Not human weapons. Divine ones.

2 Corinthians 10:4 (ESV) "For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds." What we carry into battle isn't natural. It's divine.
Ephesians 6:16 (NLT) "In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil." Faith is not passive. It is a shield you pick up and hold.
Galatians 5:16–17 (ESV) "But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other." Walking in the Spirit cuts off what the flesh feeds — and starves what the enemy uses.
Matthew 16:19 (NLT) "And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven." The keys have been given. The question is whether we're using them.
James 4:7 (ESV) "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Two steps. Submit. Resist. The result is guaranteed — he flees.
Ephesians 1:19–21 (NLT) "I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God's power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God's right hand in the heavenly realms, far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else — not only in this world but also in the world to come." The same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in you — seated far above every ruler, authority, and power of darkness.
Acts 16:18 (NIV) "She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so annoyed that he turned around and said to the spirit, 'In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!' At that moment the spirit left her." The name of Jesus isn't a formula. It's the most powerful name in existence and you have access to Him.
Matthew 17:21 (AMP) "But this kind [of demon] does not go out except by prayer and fasting." Jesus didn't say this kind can't be defeated. If something isn't moving, go deeper. Prayer and fasting sharpen what nothing else can.
This is the hinge. Everything Battle Ready Body teaches is built on this.

Luke 10:19 (AMP) "Listen carefully: I have given you authority [that you now possess] to tread on serpents and scorpions, and [the ability to exercise authority] over all the power of the enemy (Satan); and nothing will [in any way] harm you." Not some of the enemy's power. All of it. This is the authority every believer carries.
Mark 3:14–15 (NLT) "Then he appointed twelve of them and called them his apostles. They were to accompany him, and he would send them out to preach, giving them authority to cast out demons." Jesus appointed people specifically so they could be sent out with authority to cast out demons. That mandate hasn't changed.
Acts 1:8 (NIV) "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." The power came with the Holy Spirit. That same Spirit lives in every believer.
Romans 16:20 (ESV) "The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you." Victory isn't just promised — it's personal. Under your feet.
1 Peter 5:8–9 (AMP) "Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined], be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour. But resist him, be firm in your faith [against his attack — rooted, established, immovable]." Resist him. Stay rooted. He will flee.
Luke 10:17–19 (NLT) "When the seventy-two disciples returned, they joyfully reported to him, 'Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!' 'Yes,' he told them, 'I saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning! Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.'" Jesus gave His disciples authority over all the power of the enemy — and nothing injured them.
Mark 16:17 (NIV) "And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues." These signs follow those who believe. Driving out demons is on the list.

This is why we fight. Not out of fear — out of hope.

Luke 4:18 (NIV) "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free." Freedom for the captive wasn't a side ministry for Jesus. It was central to why He came.
John 8:36 (ESV) "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." Not partially free. Not mostly free. Free indeed.
Galatians 5:1 (NIV) "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Freedom is the point. Stand firm in it. Don't drift back.
Romans 8:2 (NLT) "And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death." The law of the Spirit of life has already broken the power of sin and death over you.
2 Corinthians 3:17 (AMP) "Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty [emancipation from bondage, true freedom]." Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. Not striving. Not performance. Freedom.
Mark 5:15 (NIV) "When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid." Sitting. Clothed. In his right mind. That's the outcome of an encounter with Jesus. Freedom isn't just the absence of darkness — it's the restoration of dignity.
Acts 16:16-18 (ESV) "As we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit of divination and brought her owners much gain by fortune-telling. She followed Paul and us, crying out, 'These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to you the way of salvation.' And this she kept doing for many days. Paul, having become greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, 'I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.' And it came out that very hour." Paul didn't pray about it for days. He turned around, spoke with authority, and it was done. This is what it looks like when a trained believer stops tolerating what Jesus already defeated.
Repent. Forgive. Renounce. Pray. Fast. Know who you are. Stand firm.

Matthew 10:1 (NIV) "Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness." Jesus didn't just model deliverance — He transferred the authority to do it. This wasn't reserved for the special or the qualified. He called twelve ordinary people and handed them the keys.
Nothing will injure you.'" They came back astonished — because it actually worked. Jesus wasn't surprised. He had already seen the enemy fall. The authority He gave was real then and it is real now.
Mark 16:17 (ESV) "And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues." This wasn't a promise for a select few. It was a statement about what follows those who believe. Casting out demons is listed first — not as an exception, but as an expectation.
Acts 5:16 (AMP) "And the people from the towns in the vicinity of Jerusalem were coming together, bringing the sick and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all being healed." The early church didn't refer people elsewhere for deliverance. They showed up, they ministered, and everyone was healed. This is what a trained, equipped church looks like in action.
Acts 8:7 (NLT) "Many evil spirits were cast out, screaming as they left their victims. And many who had been paralyzed or lame were healed." Deliverance was visible, it was powerful, and it happened regularly. The same Jesus is still Lord.
Matthew 12:43–45 (NLT) "When an evil spirit leaves a person, it goes into the desert, seeking rest but finding none. Then it says, 'I will return to the person I came from.' So it returns and finds its former home empty, swept, and in order. Then the spirit finds seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they all enter the person and live there. And so that person is worse off than before." This is why deliverance without discipleship is dangerous. The house needs to be filled — with the Word, with the Spirit, with community and accountability — not just swept clean. Freedom has to be maintained and built upon. This is why post-session follow-up isn't optional at The Battle Ready Body. It's essential.
